What is this?

A one-click farm-name generator inspired by the cozy aesthetic of Stardew Valley. Every roll combines a hand-picked cottagecore adjective (Honeycrisp, Willowmere, Marigold, Cinnamon, Periwinkle, Mossy, Foxglove…) with a fitting farm suffix (Acres, Homestead, Hollow, Grove, Meadow, Vale). On top of that, you get a bonus farmer name to use for your character, a favourite food they'd love as a gift, and a vibe tagline to tie the whole farm together. The adjective list shifts a little for each farm type — Forest farms get more Fern, Oak and Pine, Beach farms get more Sun and Pebble — so the name sounds like the land it sits on.

How to use this

Pick the farm type that matches the layout you chose at character creation — Standard, Riverland, Forest, Hilltop, Wilderness, Beach, or Meadowlands. Press Generate, and the farm name, a fellow Pelican Town farmer to befriend, a favorite food to gift them, and a tagline appear together. Don't love it? Roll again — there are tens of thousands of combinations. Once you've found the one, hit Copy Name and paste it into the in-game farm-name field on day one of Year 1.

Naming your farm well

The farms that stick in players' memories share a small set of qualities. They sound like a place (Honeycrisp Acres feels like somewhere you can drive to; XxFarmerxX does not). They match the land (a cliffside hilltop farm called Sunny Hollow tells a different story than one called Stormpeak Reach). And the best names are two words long — short enough to fit on a wooden sign, evocative enough to write a story around. Lean into ingredients, weather, time-of-day, and small wildlife. Avoid bandwagon prefixes like Epic, Mega or Ultra — Stardew rewards quiet.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an official Stardew Valley tool?
No. This is an unofficial fan-made generator inspired by the cozy aesthetic of Stardew Valley. It's not affiliated with ConcernedApe or any publisher of the game.
Can I use a generated farm name in the game?
Yes — names produced by this tool are short, two-word phrases that fit comfortably in the in-game farm-name field. Copy, paste, plant parsnips.
Does the farm type really change the name?
Yes — slightly. Each farm type adds extra weight to a small set of adjectives that match its biome. Forest farms tilt toward Fern, Oak and Pine; Beach farms tilt toward Sun and Pebble; Riverland tilts toward Brook and Misty. The base list is the same so you still get plenty of variety.
Why does it also give me a farmer name and a food?
Because half the joy of Stardew is gifting your villagers their favourite dish. The bonus farmer + food combo gives you a starter target — roll until you get a pairing you like, then chase that friendship in your save.
How many farm names can it generate?
About 4,000 unique adjective + suffix combinations across all farm types, plus the bonus farmer (40) × food (40) variations on top. Effectively you'll never repeat in a single playthrough.
Do you store anything I generate?
No. Every roll happens in your browser — nothing is sent to a server, nothing is logged. Refresh and start over whenever you like.
